President Kagame visits Guinea-Bissau and Guinea Conakry

From 17 - 18 April 2023, President Kagame made a one-day working visit to Guinea-Bisau and a two-day working visit to Guinea Conakry respectively. The bigger picture: President Kagame held a tête-à-tête with President Umaro Sissoco Embaló, followed by bilateral discussions with their respective delegations, and the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on Mutual Visas Requirements Exemption. The two Heads of State also addressed a joint press conference.

The medal: President Kagame was conferred the Amílcar Cabral Medal, the highest distinction in Guinea-Bissau, attributed to the heads of state of countries that are friends of Guinea-Bissau. Wednesday, 19 April - President Kagame received a delegation led by David Bonderman, co-founder of the TPG, a global alternative asset firm with a long history of investing in growth, change, and innovation. Discussions: Conservation efforts across the continent.

Guinea Conakry: President Kagame and H.E. Col. Mamadi Doumbouya witnessed the inauguration of a highway interchange connecting Kagbélen to Conakry that was named after President Kagame. The completed infrastructure will ease movement between major industrial cities and Conakry as well as with neighboring countries.
